Lacey Turner’s husband didn’t let a nationwide lockdown stop him when it came to treating the star for her birthday.

The EastEnders actress turned 32 on Saturday with her doting husband Matt Kay, a food taster, bringing all of her favourite places to their house.

As pubs, restaurants and cafes remain closed as part of the coronavirus lockdown, Matt even recreated EastEnders drinking spot, the Queen Vic pub during the thoughtful tour.

A touched Lacey, who plays Stacey Slater on the BBC soap, documented Matt’s efforts on Instagram, revealing that her day started at Matt’s version of popular coffee spot Caffe Nero.

Matt stuck a Caffe Nero sign next to the couple’s coffee machine in the kitchen, with Lacey revealing:

‘So I had the best birthday thanks to @fussymuncher. This morning he took me to @cafe.nero for a coffee and a croissant.’

Next up was a trip to a branch of celeb favourite restaurant The Ivy, which was recreated in the couple’s lounge, with the famous logo strung from the ceiling and flowers and greenery decorating the breakfast bar.

Lacy posted: He then took me to @ivystalbans for dinner.’

The couple finished the special day at the Queen Vic, with a sign hanging on the wall above a well-stocked drinks trolley, as the couple enjoyed wine and beer.

Lacey and Matt, who have been together since they were teenagers, welcomed their first child together, daughter Dusty, in July 2019.

The couple married in 2017 with a wild ceremony in Ibiza, a year after Matt proposed during a break in Venice.

The actress is currently on maternity leave from her EastEnders role, but the BBC soap shut down their set earlier this month to protect cast and crew from the spread of coronavirus.
