Judge Rinder, 41, reveals he ‘thinks he had coronavirus but refuses to pay for a test as long as frontline NHS staff remain unable to get one’

Judge Rinder thinks he may have had coronavirus – but he is ‘refusing’ to pay for a test because frontline NHS staff are unable to get one.

The 41-year-old criminal barrister and TV presenter – whose real name is Robert Rinder – said he ‘feels well’ now, but believes he may have contracted the virus recently.

Speaking on This Morning, he said: ‘I’m just through the other side of it. It’s [been] 20 days and I feel well now.’

Presenter Phillip Schofield, 57, then asked him: ‘So, you had it?’

He said: ‘I think I did, but because frontline NHS staff can’t get tests I refused to pay for one. But I’m sure I’m fine.’

When asked what his symptoms were, he said: ‘Terrible temperature, appalling cough, and lying with my feet on the ground and my head on the bed in a coma watching the Kardashians, so I must have been really ill.’

Rob’s concerns come after former Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton recently said he thinks he may have had coronavirus.

He said: ‘I remember in January I was really ill, just before I started rehearsals for The Wedding Singer: The Musical.

‘I was really ill and then going into rehearsals I remember having really heavy flu.

‘I kept coughing all the time and I had a fever and they are some of the things they are talking about with coronavirus.’

Since the outbreak, the Strictly Come Dancing pro has been self-isolating with his girlfriend Stacey Dooley, but still wonders if he has already caught the bug.

He said: ‘I am staying indoors and only going out for essentials like everyone else. We are at a big threat at the moment with this. I am alright.

‘I slightly wonder if I might have already had it at some point. I think there are a lot of people wondering if they have had coronavirus or not.

‘Because we don’t know. Some of us show milder symptoms.’
