Did she write it? Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden (pictured) has been accused of faking her speech about self-love during Sunday’s final vow ceremony with Jonethen Musulin

During their final vow ceremony, Connie told ‘husband’ Jonethen that she kept him in the social experiment for so long because she was on a journey with herself.

She proudly declared: ‘Although I didn’t find love with you, I found something so much more important. Something so valuable. I found that I am brave, I am strong, I am confident, and I am worthy. Ultimately, I’ve found myself.

‘Standing in front of you is a confident and proud woman who now understands her worth in this world. The only love and approval I need is from myself. I became the love I was searching for – but I could never have done any of this without you.’

Whereas Connie is believed to have penned the speech herself, it is likely she turned to self-love blogs and social media for inspiration before filming the episode.

One very similar Pinterest post reads ‘I am…’ and is then surrounded by many of the empowering words Connie chose to describe herself with.

Another post reads: ‘I love, accept and approve of myself’. Which is near identical to Connie’s sentence: ‘The only love and approval I need is from myself.’

A fourth unimpressed fan of the show posted: ‘The producers are reaaallly trying to sell us this Connie empowerment narrative, huh?’
