Kate Ferdinand reflects on her first week of homeschooling with husband Rio

Kate Ferdinand has shared a reflective post after bringing an end to her first week of homeschooling with husband Rio’s three children.

The star, 28, took to Instagram to share the lengthy post after a stroll through the countryside with stepsons Lorenz, 13, and Tate, 11, and stepdaughter Tia, eight. 

After a week of homeschooling Kate also rewarded herself with a glass of wine which Rio shared on Instagram after passing the time by re-organising the towel cupboard in her house.

In a lengthy post, Kate admitted that there had been some challenges in homeschooling Rio’s children, but told fans that she was still grateful to be alive and well during the coronavirus lockdown.

She penned: ‘First school week of the #ferdinandhomeschool complete �� there’s been some mad moments, lots of fun family workouts and walks, a broken arm, lots of moaning, some shouting… some vodkas but mostly LOVE and we SURVIVED our first week.

‘I have learnt a lot and I absolutely love this picture Rio took, It really captured a moment. It’s the simple things in life I’m learning to appreciate more and more.

‘#Iamgrateful for our health, and for the lessons the virus is teaching us. We are really realising what is important and what isn’t. I hope you have all survived your first week. Lots of love to everyone.’

Kate also continued to document her day in self-isolation, by sharing a video of Lorenz and Tia in the midst of watching Joe Wicks’ workout.

Rio also took to his Stories to post a video of Kate after she reorganised their towel and toiletry cupboard.

Speaking to the camera Kate said: ‘Our new towel cupboard! Oh hi my name’s Lorenz I’m looking for a towel here it is! Do you like that? Oh hang on a minute I’m looking for a wash bag. Do you love it? Are you proud?’

Clearly proud of his wife Rio said: ‘I just want to thank you,’ after sharing a glimpse of the neat and tidy cupboard.

In a later post, Rio and Kate enjoyed some relaxation with a glass of wine as they commended teachers for their hard work.

The couple have been homeschooling the children after schools were forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Posting a video of his ice cold beverage Rio said: ‘I just want to thank you. Just want to say now excactly how school teachers feel, [turning the camera to Kate] there’s one of them look.’

As Kate sipped her own wine glass she said: ‘We need this!’ before playfully asking Rio’s children if he had actually done any of the homeschooling. 

Off-camera Tia responded: ‘He has but not very much.’

It comes after Kate and Rio gave a candid insight into the family’s self-isolation amid the UK coronavirus lockdown as they were joined for a workout with his children Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, eight.

Kate shared a video called: ‘The Ferdinand Home School Day 3 #stayhome family workout,’ followed by exercise emojis.

In the clip, the blonde beauty admitted: ‘It feels like day ten but it’s day three!’

Kate and Rio went on to explain that the children were joining them in their home gym as part of their P.E. lesson with Lorenz and Tia doing The Body Coach Joe Wicks’ videos and Tate on the treadmill.

Although former footballer Rio warned: ‘The most important thing is homework later!’ to which Kate quipped: ‘Rio’s a bit strict.’

Rio added: ‘I have to be strict, so they know,’ with Kate admitting: ‘I am stricter. I’m the strict one guys but he’s the louder one.’
