‘Since we have pretty much been on lockdown since last Thursday, I’ve felt complete calm for the first time in my life,’ Tammin said on Tuesday.

She went on to explain:  ‘For someone like me who has been completely honest about my struggles with anxiety for over 15 years, where at times it’s been debilitating, you’d think that would be strange, right?

‘It was strange to me too. We had a really rough two years and was just seeing the light when this hit, and yet I have complete calm. Peace. I had to sit with myself for a while and meditate on the why.’

Tammin said the realisation she had no control hit her ‘like a lightning bolt’.

‘For the first time in my life, I believe that what is happening, is that I’m practicing acceptance. My therapist always used to say to me, that if you want to get on the other side of anxiety, you have to accept the situation you are in and do the best you can,’ she explained.

The former Home and Away star believed the unprecedented nature of the lockdown motivated her to accept the situation.

‘I don’t know how long this will last, I don’t know if our jobs will fall through, I don’t know if we will get sick, or my friends will get sick, I don’t know when my child will go back to school. I don’t know. No one does.

‘So we have to accept the situation and make the best of whatever we can,’ she said.

Tammin added she still felt a ‘deep sadness’ for anybody personally affected and still urged her followers to stay inside, but wanted to share the revelation of ‘how powerful acceptance is’.
