Viewers of new BBC1 drama The Nest found themselves distracted by the ‘beautiful’ Scottish home that took centre stage in last night’s premiere.

The five-part series follows affluent couple Emily (Sophie Rundle) and Dan (Martin Compston) as they pursue their dream of having a child, apparently by any means necessary. The first episode saw them strike a deal with disadvantaged 18-year-old Kaya (Mirren Mack), who agreed to act as a surrogate in exchange for £50,000.

While unrealistic aspects of the plot raised eyebrows from fans and critics alike, Dan and Emily’s stunning property, set on the edge of a loch near Glasgow, united all viewers in praise.
