Laura Dern practices social distancing while out on a walk with daughter Jaya and their dogs in Los Angeles
Nearly a week of rainy weather has heightened the gloomy outlook, amid the coronavirus pandemic, in Southern California over the last week or so.
But finally, on Saturday, residents hunkered down in home quarantine got a sunny reprieve from mother nature.
And Oscar-winning actress Laura Dern was among the people who took advantage of the warmer, sunnier weather and headed outside for some exercise, all while putting the ‘social distancing’ recommendation into action while in the public.

Dern, 53, headed out for a walk with her 15-year-old daughter Jaya and a couple of their pet pooches.
With nearly everyone in homebody mode of late, the Los Angeles native kept it casual in an all-black ensemble that consisted of sweatpants, t-shirt, light jacket and sneakers.
Despite the scary and stressful times in the wake of COVID-19, Dern illuminated a positive outlook with her big bold smile while taking the lead with her daughter and dogs.
Jaya had an equally glowing smile dressed in blue leggings and a matching hoodie and white sneakers.

Each of them took turns with the dogs, all while stopping for a quick chat with neighbors who were on their walking route.
In keeping with health experts recommendations, the mother-daughter tandem maintained the six-foot distance between themselves and others.
Along with Jaya, Dern also shares an 18-year-old son Ellery with ex-husband and musician Ben Harper.
The couple were married for about eight years before their divorced was finalized in September 2013.
Up until the heightened coronavirus lockdown, Dern was reprising her role as Dr. Ellie Sattler for Jurassic World: Dominion. The film also brings original Jurassic Park stars Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil back into the fold, along with current franchise leads Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Jurassic World: Dominion had been expected to premiere in theaters June 11, 2021, but time will tell whether the shutdown of Hollywood projects due to the coronavirus will push back the release date.
