Married At First Sight’s Mikey Pembroke ‘in hiding’ after bikies threatened to ‘bash’ him in terrifying Instagram messages

Married At First SIght’s Mikey Pembroke was forced into hiding after he received terrifying threats of violence on Instagram. 

As reported by The Daily Telegraph, Channel Nine and Endemol Shine found over 15 worrying messages on the 29-year-old’s Instagram account on March 5th. 

As part of MAFS participants’ contracts, producers have access to their official social media accounts while the show is airing.

The messages were reportedly sent from an account associated with bikies.

Mikey, who was at an event in Sydney when the messages were uncovered, was immediately told by Nine not to return home or go to work. 

The next day, he and his brother Tom were called into a meeting with Nine, Endemol Shine and legal representatives.

While Mikey has not spoken about the content of the messages, Tom told The Daily Telegraph that the person had threatened to break into Mikey’s apartment and ‘bash him’.  

One of the messages read: ‘You can watch me bash him if you want, I can video it’, Tom told The Daily Telegraph.  

The person reportedly knew details of Mikey’s home address.

After being shown the messages, the brothers were relocated to Sydney’s Sheraton at Park hotel and put into lockdown for six days. 

NSW Police are investigating the incident. 

In a statement given to The Daily Telegraph, Nine and Endemol Shine said that the safety of participants is taken seriously.   

‘If there is ever something which comes up that requires the attention or management by other authorities we do not hesitate to take appropriate actions to protect those on our shows,’ they said.
