Kanye West is chipping in and helping his hometowns, both past and present, in the wake of the growing coronavirus outbreak.

The legendary hip-hop star, 42, opened up his wallet and donated money to two non-profit organizations that help feed people in need, according to Access Online.

Turns out, one of the facilities is located in his adopted home of Los Angeles, while the other sits in his original hometown of Chicago.

His generous contribution to We Women Empowered, in his old neighborhood on the southside of Chicago, will expand its services of providing meals to the elderly.

Founder Josephine Wade said she was ‘beyond words’ when she learned of West’s game-changing offer.

‘And in one call, in an instant today, our world was changed,’ she said in a statement.

West also donated to the Dream Center, a non-profit located in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

His generosity will help provide meals at its drive-thru meal service for people affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

The charity currently provides about 7,000 meals a day, but it’s expected to grow to about 9,000 as the pandemic fears persist.

The number of stars and high-profile people giving back during the health crisis continues to grow as the needs of citizens skyrocket.

Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively donated $1 million to Feeding America and Food banks Canada.

‘Take care of your bodies and hearts,’ Reynolds wrote when making the announcement on Instagram.

‘Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection,’ he added.

Television talk show host Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos donated $1 million to the New York Governor’s office for coronavirus relief efforts, according to ET.

Arthur Bank, the owner of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, donated $5.4 million to the Greater Atlanta COVID-19 Response And Recovery Fund, which was established in the wake of the outbreak.

Netflix has set-up a $100 million relief fund to help members of the entertainment industry who are now out of work due to the ongoing quarantine precautions.

Others who have made significant contributions include Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, legendary fashion designer Giorgio Armani and NFL star JJ Watt.
