Home and Away’s Sam Frost has revealed she has ‘crippling anxiety’ over the coronavirus pandemic. 

The 30-year-old actress revealed in a blog post for her mental health site Believe, that she had been ‘crying hysterically’ on the phone with her mother because she felt so isolated. 

In a bid to encourage fans to put their mental health first during this trying time, Sam bravely admitted: ‘Quite honestly, I am feeling more alone than ever.’

Describing the pandemic as a ‘challenging time’ for the world, Sam went on to say that the unknown can be ‘triggering’ for people who struggle with their mental health.

‘My thoughts are with you all, especially those who struggle with mental health issues. The instability and the unknown can be very triggering for us.’

Speaking about finding things difficult, Sam added: ‘I just got off the phone to my mum, I called her crying hysterically after a very long night of tears and crippling anxiety keeping me awake.’

Sam went on to share motivation with her readers, reminding them that humans are ‘resilient.’

She went on to tell fans to make their mental health a ‘priority’ and even linked to an article that helped with ‘coronavirus anxiety.’ She also encouraged fans to check in with their friends and family, as people self-isolate. 

In October last year, Sam revealed her struggle with mental health left her ‘riddled with pain’ and unable to cope.

She also struggled dealing with online hate after her highly-publicised splits with Bachelor Blake Garvey and Bachelorette winner Sasha Mielczarek. 

Speaking to The Herald Sun, Sam said: ‘All of those things just piled up and I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore’.

Sam said her mental health is a lifelong struggle for her and may have been passed down from her mother, who also struggled with similar issues. 

The blonde has long been a crusader for mental health and established her website, Believe by Sam frost, in 2018 to help others.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness accompanied by fever, coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath and fatigue.   

The spread of the disease, which began in Wuhan, China, has seen over 245,900 cases worldwide and more than 10,000 fatalities.

As of Saturday, the total number of people diagnosed with coronavirus in Australia is 1,022, with seven deaths.
