Maya Jama looks casually cool in bomber jacket and red joggers to head to BBC studios to present show… after singing Mariah Carey from her balcony

She kept herself entertained during self-isolation earlier this week by downing red wine and singing Mariah Carey to her neighbours from her balcony.

And Maya Jama appeared in high spirits as she broke her self-isolation to head to BBC Radio One studios in London to present her show on Friday.

The radio presenter, 25, cut a casual figure in a black padded coat and red jogging bottoms.

Maya opted for comfort on her feet with white high-top converses and donned a pair of black sunglasses.

She styled her hair in french braids and toted her black designer bag in one hand and flashed a smile as she strolled through the capital.

From the studio, Maya took to Instagram and told her followers: ‘So I’ve made it off the balcony and into the studio to play your favourite songs. Tune in guys.’

Earlier this week, Maya took to Instagram to share a video of herself sipping red wine and singing Mariah Carey on her balcony.

Maya penned: ‘Tried to lighten the quarantine mood n have a sing song but the neighbours ain’t on it’ (sic).

Dressed in a green and brown fluffy coat complete with a denim bucket hat and pink sunglasses, the presenter gave it her all in the video as she declared: ‘Neighbours come on out!’

Yet the performance didn’t appear to go down well with Maya’s neighbours as they remained inside their flats, with only a bemused cat watching on from a balcony.

Maya took inspiration from Italy after thousands in Rome, Milan, and Naples raised spirits with a flashmob during the draconian coronavirus lockdown.

Families and neighbours sang and crashed pots and pans together for the performers in cities across the country, organised through messaging service WhatsApp for noon on Saturday.

Maya appears to be following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s words that Brits should work from home, stay away from bars, clubs and restaurants and avoid ‘all non-essential contact’ for 12-weeks.

The PM warned that the coronavirus was now in a phase of rapid spread across the UK, with London seeing a particular surge, and it was time to take radical action to stop the NHS being swamped.
