Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti reignite their rivalry in a dramatic new trailer for season five of Showtime’s Billions.

The actors portray enemies Bobby Axelrod and Chuck Rhoades on the hit show, which is aired on Stan.

‘People like us, we’re different, we need power, we need it to feel alive. Maybe even to be alive,’ Damian says at the start of the clip.

The show centres around influential attorney Chuck (Giamatti) and rich hedge fund boss Bobby (Lewis), who go head to head in the world of finance in New York.

This season will see Julianna Margulies and Corey Stoll guest star.

It looks set to be one of the best seasons yet, with Damian teasingly saying at the end of the trailer: ‘That’s right, I am a monster, a carnivorous monster.’

Back in 2016, British actor Damian told The Guardian that he thinks a lot of powerful hedge fund managers are ‘misunderstood.’

‘I think very few people still understand the distinction between CEOs on Wall Street and the hedge-fund billionaires operating separately,’ Damian said.

Speaking about the show, he added that that show explores the personality types of powerful people in society.

‘It’s as much a study of people as of kings and kingdoms,’ he said.

He added: ‘A study of what personality types tend to win these positions in our society – and what they’re prepared to do to keep themselves there.’

The new season is set to be released on Stan on May 3.
