Chloe Lattanzi was slammed by fans this week after posting a tone-deaf comment about coronavirus.  

The 34-year-old daughter of Olivia Newton-John was at Melbourne Airport on Thursday, when she complained on Instagram about having to ‘listen to people freak out’ about the pandemic. 

She shared a picture of herself in a crop top ahead of catching a flight to the US, prompting one fan to remind her it was a serious situation, while another called her an ‘airhead’ and unfollowed her.

‘I love waiting at the airport for four hours listening to people freak out about coronavirus yay,’ Chloe wrote alongside a busty picture of herself in a white crop top and jeans. 

One follower replied, reminding Chloe that it is a pandemic. 

‘This is also a serious situation and many countries have closed down,’ they began.

‘Many people worldwide are infected and many have died. So I understand very well that people are scared.’

Another remarked: ‘Airhead. I thought you were smarter… some influencer. Unfollowing.’

‘You’re supposed to stay inside,’ another added. 

One fan however told Chloe to ‘stay safe’ as they knew she was ‘just trying to make light out of a bad situation.’

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison closed the Australian border this week. Non-residents will be banned from entering the country from 9pm on Friday.

Only Australian permanent residents and citizens are allowed to enter. Virgin Australia has cancelled all international flights. 

Qantas has suspended international flights from the end of March until May, with limited domestic flights available. 

There are 756 confirmed coronavirus cases in Australia as of Friday. Seven people have died so far.
