Puppy love! Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell pose with their adorable dog Piggy… amid fears the couple’s upcoming wedding could be called off because of the coronavirus

In what can only be described as a frightening and confusing time, Bindi Irwin and her fiancé Chandler Powell are finding solace in their animals.

The couple shared a photo of themselves posing with their beloved puppy, Piggy, on their respective Instagram pages this week.

‘Always smiling with our sweet girl,’ Bindi, 21, captioned the photo, while Chandler, 23, wrote, ‘Our little family’.

The couple adopted Piggy at the end of last year, with Bindi introducing her to the couple’s fans on New Year’s Day.

‘Our family is growing! Chandler and I are so happy to introduce you to our sweetheart Piggy. 2020 is going to be beautiful. Happy New Year,’ she wrote.

But as the coronavirus continues to grip the world, the couple are reportedly worried they’ll have to cancel their wedding after Prime Minister Scott Morrison banned all non-essential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people.

Furthermore, strict travel restrictions will make it virtually impossible for Chandler’s family to fly in from the US, with 835 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia as of Friday afternoon.

Tellingly, Bindi shared a post on Instagram earlier this week about maintaining hope in difficult times.

‘If you only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let it be hope. Let it be hope that better things are always ahead,’ it began.

‘Let it be hope that you can get through even the toughest of times. Let it be hope that you are stronger than any challenge that comes your way.

‘Let it be hope that you are exactly where you are meant to be right now, and that you are on the path to where you are meant to be…

‘Because during these times, hope will be the very thing that carries you through.’
