Like many celebrities, Kristen Bell is self-quarantining with her family as the coronavirus pandemic worsens in the US.

And on Wednesday, the actress, 39, shared via Instagram that she has made a substantial donation to the nonprofit organization No Kid Hungry.

She also shared that her two daughters Lincoln, six, and Delta, five, emptied their piggy bank and added their savings to their mom’s total.

Kind deed: Kristen Bell,  39, shared via Instagram Wednesday that she has made a substantial donation to the nonprofit organization No Kid Hungry to help feed children affected by school closures during the coronavirus pandemic

No Kid Hungry is dedicated to ending child hunger and poverty and as schools close in order to try and slow down the spread of COVID-19, the charity claims that millions of children who rely on school meals are going hungry.

Kristen, who shares her children with husband Dax Shepard, revealed she donated $150,007.96.

‘The reason the number is odd, is because when my kids overheard me making the donation, they asked if they could also donate the money from their piggy bank,’ the Frozen star wrote on Instagram.

‘I couldn’t have been prouder to add that extra, and important 7 dollars and 96 cents.’

Along with the message, she posted a photo showing her daughters’ hands with the dollar bills and coins they emptied from their piggy bank.

As more and more cities and states introduce measures to combat the coronavirus including urging people to stay home and maintain social distancing, Kristen has been using her social media to urge her followers to follow the guidelines and to help others.

Meanwhile, her most recent big screen release Frozen 2 has been made available three months early on the Disney+ streaming service.
