Elle Fanning slips into something cozy for leisurely stroll with mom Heather in LA amid ‘social distance’ encouragement

Her sister Dakota Fanning took to Instagram on Monday to encourage people to ‘stay at home’ in the hopes of preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

But sister Elle Fanning applied a more lenient definition to social distancing on Wednesday, when she embarked on a leisurely stroll with her mother Heather in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old actress tied up her light blonde tresses into a messy top-knot, while her piercing blue eyes remained hidden behind a pair of yellow tinted aviator shades.

Braving the air: Elle Fanning went against orders to social distance on Wednesday, when she stepped out for a leisurely stroll with her mother Heather in Los Angeles

Fanning braved the uncharacteristically chill Los Angeles weather in a cropped fleece pullover paired with black figure hugging leggings.

The Neon Demon star rounded out her athletic attire with a pair of classic white kicks and pale blue ankle socks.

She kept close to mother Heather as the pair ventured up a desolate residential road surrounded by shrubbery.

With all of the pandemic panic inundating the media, Elle appeared unaffected and opted to live in the moment beside her 52-year-old mom.

Sister Dakota has proven to be much more vocal on the seriousness of the virus, often taking to social media to influence her 3million followers to engage in the recommended precautionary measures.

She posted a video of herself taking her temperature on Monday, along with the caption, ‘Stay at HOME (if you can) and stay HEALTHY.’

In the video, Dakota glided the thermometer across her forehead and temple. The reading measured her at 98.2 F, and Dakota flashed a proud smile, satisfied with her results.

The one time the I Am Sam actress wandered beyond the four walls of her home, she donned bright pink throw away gloves and opted to travel alone in order to adhere to social distancing.

Though the siblings may have different approaches to combating coronavirus, they do not, however, have different tastes in scripts.

So much so, that it was announced earlier in the month that the blonde duo would star alongside one another in the World War II drama The Nightingale.

According to an article published by Deadline on March 2, Dakota and Elle ‘will play on-screen sisters in the coming-of-age story, set on the eve of World War II, and their struggle to survive and resist the German occupation of France.’

The film, an adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s international bestseller of the same name, was set to premiere during the 2020 Christmas season, due to the overwhelming Winter success of 2019’s female driven film Little Women.

But, with the coronavirus threat having garnered more seriousness since the film’s announcement, live-action productions across the globe have halted in order to protect cast and crew from contracting or spreading the potentially deadly virus.

As a result, many films will experience production and theatrical delays, both elements expected to plague The Nightingale.
