While she hasn’t been diagnosed with COVID-19, she doesn’t want to put herself or others at risk by leaving the house.

‘I DON’T have coronavirus, but I’m worried I’ll get it’: Sunrise host Samantha Armytage reveals she’s ‘taking a few weeks off work’ as she recovers from a ‘respiratory infection’

‘Hi all… I’m taking a few weeks off work as I’ve had a respiratory infection (for 3 months) since the bushfires & it just won’t heal,’ she told her Instagram followers.

‘I DON’T have coronavirus, but I’m worried I’ll get it if I don’t get better. Thought it was a good time to lie low.’

She then urged her fans to ‘be careful’ and ‘take care of each other’ in the wake of the health crisis.

Samantha recently shared a sweet love letter from a young admirer as she returned to her day job at Channel Seven’s Sunrise.

‘Because there’s so much awful stuff on social media, here’s something lovely,’ she wrote on Instagram Stories, sharing a photograph of the note.

‘Every Monday-Friday I wake up at 5.30am and tune in to Sunrise,’ Samantha’s admirer, a 12-year-old boy named Joseph wrote.

‘I’ve been watching it now for 2 years and everyday she looks so pretty and that’s why I admire her. That’s pretty much all I have to say,’ he finished.
