Married At First Sight’s Steve Burley will love Mishel until he dies

‘I will love her until the day I die!’ Married At First Sight’s Steve Burley reveals the exact moment his feelings grew for Mishel Karen – and insists he never thought she was ‘unattractive’

Steve Burley and Mishel Karen’s relationship on Married At First Sight could easily be described as tumultuous.

However, in Monday’s TV WEEK magazine, Steve, 52, revealed the exact moment his feelings grew for Mishel, 49, in scenes that did not make it on camera.

The British-born barber shop owner said he was particularly moved by a conversation they had, and will ‘love her’ until the day he dies.

Steve revealed the pair had a ‘deep and meaningful’ conversation off-camera during groom homestay week, which aired last week.

‘It was a very moving moment. We hugged and were both in tears. My attraction started to grow towards Mishel because of the conversation,’ he said.

‘Where we were after that is a really close moment and I will love Mishel until the day I die.’

Steve also wanted to clear up Mishel’s accusation about not being sexually attracted to her.

In an episode earlier this month, Mishel berated Steve for not telling her that he wasn’t attracted to her much sooner in the experiment.

‘I was trying to work it through in my own head, that’s why I didn’t say anything, because I wanted it to work out naturally,’ he explained on camera.

Mishel continued to shout at Steve, yelling: ‘How would you feel if I said you’re sexually not attractive to me?’

Losing his cool, Steve barked back: ‘It wouldn’t feel nice. I’m really f***ing sorry you’re upset. The last thing I want to do is upset you.’

In his TV WEEK interview, Steve said that while he was ‘struggling’ with his attraction to Mishel, he never found her unattractive.

‘They’re two completely different things. She’s a beautiful, beautiful person,’ he explained.

Married At First Sight continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
