Matthew Broderick revealed his 64-year-old sister, Reverend Janet Broderick is on the upswing after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
‘My entire family is grateful for the concern about, and the well wishes for, my sister Janet,’ the 57-year-old actor told People on Saturday.
‘I’m happy to say she is feeling much better and is on the road to a full recovery. We are all very appreciative for the wonderful care she received from the amazing doctors and nurses at Cedars-Sinai,’ he shared.

It emerged Wednesday that she had tested positive for the coronavirus, which the World Health Organization declared a pandemic that same day.
Janet, 64, is a reverend at the Beverly Hills, California-based All Saints Episcopal Church; the church said she was hospitalized in stable condition after the test, and battling severe pneumonia.
Janet recently traveled back from Louisville, Kentucky where she was at the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes, according to the church.
‘As you may know, our Rector, Janet Broderick, took ill shortly after returning from the annual conference … which was attended by more than 500 Episcopalians from around the country,’ the church said in a statement, according to CBS LA. ‘As you also may know, it was reported last Sunday that the rector of Christ Church Georgetown in Washington, D.C., an attendee of the conference, was diagnosed with the Covid-19 coronavirus.’

The church said that Janet assessed, then ‘moved to the ICU and placed under isolation,’ when the positive test came back Wednesday.
Rev. Nathaniel Katz, the senior associate rector with the religious institution, said that some activities at the facility, which sits at 504 N. Camden Drive, have been suspended, with health officials asked to advise on how to move forward.
Janet penned a letter to the church’s parishioners, writing, ‘I am sorry for you to hear this news,’ and ‘I am so thankful for your prayers as I have been ill.’

She said that she’s been ‘through the worst of this and very very much on the mend,’ sharing a lighthearted anecdote to illustrate her calm state of mind.
‘I asked my kids to bring me a coloring book and a Lego set if that is any indication,’ she wrote. ‘What I really want is Colorforms but they don’t make that anymore.’
The devout sibling of the actor referred to her faith amid her recovery from the virus.
‘Jesus has been so close to me the whole time and scriptures have upheld me no kidding,’ she said. ‘Even at my worst, I felt his hand on me. My family have been so so loving and cared for me so well.

‘We so look forward to being together again in worship, to praying with you and singing a hymn.’
In 2018, she took part in a reading of A Christmas Memory with her brother at her former church, Morristown, New Jersey’s St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
‘I love my brother so much,’ she told The Daily Record. ‘I’m excited about being able to work with him.
‘I communicate from the pulpit and in liturgy all the time, for 30 years, and to have the opportunity to communicate with him about something so real, so loving and giving, is very pleasing to me, very fulfilling.’
