Married At First Sight’s Jules Robinson says body shaming inspired her shapewear brand Figur

‘I had a tough time’: Married At First Sight 2019 star Jules Robinson reveals negative experiences on MAFS inspired her shapewear brand Figur

Jules Robinson is grateful to have fallen in love with her now-husband Cameron Merchant on the last season of Married At First Sight.

And last week, speaking on the Rogue podcast, Jules claimed even two of her negative experiences on the show have spurred something positive in her life.

The Weight Watchers ambassador, 37, said feeling uncomfortable in frocks at the show’s dinner parties and being ruthlessly body shamed by vile trolls inspired her shapewear brand, Figur.

‘I had a bit of tough time with trolling and body shaming for the shape of my body,’ Jules said on the podcast.

‘I wanted to put all different shapes and sizes of women into (the Figur campaign), really pushing it out on my socials to be like “this is beautiful, everyone is unique in their own way”.’

Jules continued: ‘I knew people weren’t going to like me, that people were going to judge me, but I knew if I held my head high and was a hundred per cent me, then I knew I could be okay with that.’

Turning a negative into a positive: Jules said body shaming inspired her to use women of all shapes and sizes to model for her shapewear brand Figur. Jules is pictured modelling with other women

She also said that while on the program, she found it difficult and uncomfortable when strapping microphones to her ensembles during filming.

Despite being body shamed, Jules said her experience on MAFS was worth it because she met Cameron, who she officially married in November last year.

‘I met the most beautiful man in the world and everything that’s come with that has just been an added bonus,’ she said.
