House Rules: High Stakes contestants reveal the new season contestants face the most pressure

House Rules: High Stakes stars reveal new season will see contestants face the most ‘pressure-filled’ challenges in the renovation show’s history

House Rules: High Stakes will deliver exactly what it says on the box, the renovation’s show’s new contestants insist.

Laith, 29, and George, 30, mates from Western Australia, will appear on the upcoming season and say the ‘pressure’ on contestants is massive this year.

George, who is a qualified builder and runs a construction company, told The Daily Telegraph on Sunday that he’s perfectly suited for the tasks.

‘Pressure is something that I am familiar with, my business can be a lot of pressure at times and over the years it is something that you learn to deal with’ he said.

Laith, who is a lawyer, has little experience at renovation but insists his job as a lawyer, ‘is very pressure driven I’ve learned to excel when under a lot of pressure’.

House Rules: High Stakes will see eight teams proving their worth in the toughest challenge ever – the transformation of a 33-storey penthouse on the Gold Coast.

With more to gain, but even more to lose, teams will be desperate to succeed as they attempt to please the new judges who have their own sky-high expectations.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Saul Myers and cricket WAG-turned-interior designer Kyly Clarke will star as judges on the revamped home renovation series.

Meanwhile, Johanna Griggs announced in July last year that she is leaving House Rules after seven years as host.

Abbey Gelmi, who is co-hosting the 2020 season alongside Jamie Durie, admitted to Daily Mail Australia this month that the incoming pair have big shoes to fill.

‘Johanna did an amazing job over so many seasons, so we’re definitely hoping to do her and the show justice,’ the 29-year-old said.

She also described Johanna, 46, as a ‘legend’ and ‘one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet’.
