Original Yellow Wiggle Greg Page plans to write a song to teach children about CPR… after suffering a cardiac arrest on stage at bushfire relief show

The original Yellow Wiggle, Greg Page, is working on a way to help educate children about CPR, by writing a song about the lifesaving procedure.

The entertainer suffered a cardiac arrest on stage at The Wiggles reunion bushfire relief concert in January.

The 48-year-old revealed he previously didn’t know how to administer CPR, but has learned since his harrowing ordeal.

‘I knew what CPR was but I didn’t really know how to use it during cardiac arrest,’ Greg told The Daily Telegraph.

He added: ‘That’s part of my mission now to educate people about cardiac arrest and that it kills 30,000 people in Australia every year.’

Greg went on to explain the survival rate for heart attacks outside the hospital was just 10 per cent.

‘With CPR it jumps to 70 per cent,’ he explained.

In early February, Greg revealed it took three defibrillator shocks to restart his heart.

‘My heart was shocked back into rhythm with three shots of the AED by a nurse and bystanders who happened to be at the show and knew how to use the defibrillator,’ Greg told The Sunday Telegraph.

He added: ‘It is only due to CPR that was commenced so quickly, the fact that the Castle Hill RSL Club had an AED on site and readily available.

‘And that there were people around who knew how to use the machine, that I am able to tell you this story myself.’

He went on to share his gratitude for the people who ‘stepped up’ and used their life-saving skills.

Greg thanked Steve Pace, Grace Jones, Kim Antonelli and Dr. Therese Wales and the other members of the Wiggles crew for helping him survive.

Anthony broke down in tears as he recalled the moment cast, crew and an event-goer saved Greg Page after his cardiac arrest on stage.

‘He was gone. He came off stage and collapsed and there was no pulse, there was no breathing. They really brought Greg back,’ he told 7News.
