Willow Smith has her head shaved by boyfriend Tyler Cole

Willow Smith has been trapped in a box for the past 24 hours, and she will come out of the box with a shaved head.

Smith, 19, wound down her 24-hour exhibit The Anxiety at MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary on Thursday night, where she got her hair cut by Tyler Cole.

Smith’s mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, was on hand to record video of Cole cutting her hair, on both her Instagram and Instagram story.

Smith was wearing a black printed t-shirt as Cole cut her hair with clippers, while wearing black coveralls 

Pinkett Smith also took to her Instagram story to showcase the first cut, which she captioned, ‘The start of a new beginning’ with the heart emoji.

Both Smith and Cole were wearing matching black coveralls and black boots during the exhibit.

After her head was shaved, Smith put on a pair of bunny ears while writing messages on the white walls.

She also held up a sign that read, ‘When you practice patience… you are emulating the very spirit of nature.’

The exhibit, dubbed The Anxiety, is described as  ‘A personification of the emotional spectrum within the human mind and through performance art.’

The exhibit lasted for 24 hours only at The Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art from 9 PM on Wednesday to 9 PM on Thursday.

Smith told The Los Angeles Times on Tuesday that Smith and Cole came up with the idea while recording their new album, also dubbed The Anxiety.

Her last three albums she described as having, ‘more of a psychedelic, shoe-gaze, soft-rock kind of feeling.’

However, with The Anxiety, she was able to let loose and, ‘scream and get raunchy,’ she revealed.

The album will debut after the exhibit ends on Thursday, though no further details were given.
