Prince Harry inadvertently gave Russian pranksters who posed as Greta Thunberg and her father his phone number and personal email address.

The Duke of Sussex, 35, responded to Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov from his email, and called them on his phone – without withholding his number.

Royal insiders are shocked by the major security lapse, and have blamed his new PR advisers for the huge oversight, The Sun has reported.

Kuznetsov and Stolyarov posed as environmentalist Thunberg and her father Svante to speak exclusively with Harry, due to retire from public life from March 31.

During the astonishing phone call, which is believed to have occurred between New Year’s Eve and January 22, the senior Royal made a string of stunning claims.

He slammed ‘sick’ world leaders for ignoring the climate crisis, and told the fake Greta that President Trump had ‘blood on his hands’.

Prince Harry, who stirred controversy after flying on private jets after urging the public to reduce their own carbon footprint, told the fake Swedes that they would have to take ‘extreme’ measures to force political change on the climate issue.

The Duke also called Boris Johnson a ‘good man’ who would need convincing on the climate crisis, and alleged the UK political system was ‘broken’.

Bizarrely, Prince Harry was also fooled into talking about a fictional island in the tropics that was mercy to coal companies backed by President Trump.

He offered to help the fake Greta and fake Svante transport 50 penguins held in ‘barbaric’ -20C to the North Pole by sea from landlocked Belarus.

The Royal was also propositioned with restoring monarchy to Russia, and helping the fake Greta marry… six-year-old Prince George.

Prince Harry also:

  • Said he and American former actress Meghan Markle, 38, feel ‘completely separate’ to the rest of the Royal Family;
  • Revealed the Sussexes decided to quit public life and split their time between the UK and North America to ‘protect’ infant son Archie;
  • Claimed that marrying a Royal ‘is not all it’s made out to be’;
  • Admitted that life in Canada was ‘much better’ than life as a Royal in the UK.
