Married At First Sight: Cathy Evans keeps a low profile at supermarket

Married At First Sight PICTURE EXCLUSIVE: Cathy Evans keeps a low profile during a supermarket dash amid her split from Josh Pihlak

Married At First Sight’s Cathy Evans looks set to break up with Josh Pihlak at Sunday’s commitment ceremony, after he confirmed their split earlier this week.

And the 26-year-old logistics investigator looked eager to get back to her everyday routine during her final days of filming in Sydney last year.

Cathy kept a low profile as she briefly stepped out of the couples’ apartment building on Kent Street to buy breakfast at a Woolworths supermarket on October 16.

Cathy dressed casually in blue leggings, a white crop top and Adidas sneakers.

She appeared downcast and fed up with the filming process as she stocked up on blueberries, oats and flavoured milk.

Taking an environmentally-friendly approach, she carried the items under her arm instead of using a single-use plastic bag.

Cathy was still wearing her wedding ring at this point in the experiment, but Daily Mail Australia understands her ‘marriage’ to Josh was hanging by a thread.

She kept her head down upon realising she was being photographed.

Cathy’s supermarket dash came hours before the cast filmed a particularly dramatic dinner party.

It comes after Josh faced a viewer backlash on Monday when he appeared to side with his overprotective mother instead of his ‘wife’ during homestays.

Cathy accused him of throwing her under the bus the moment they sat down for lunch, despite him reassuring her beforehand that he would support her.

A day later, he broke his contract with Channel Nine by sharing a lengthy video to Instagram in which he confirmed the couple’s split and raged against producers.

The truck driver claimed his family lunch had been selectively edited to make him and his mother, Mandy Manning, look like villains.
