Emily Blunt pokes fun at horror hit A Quiet Place in hilarious skit

The hotly-anticipated sequel to horror film A Quiet Place is set to be released next week.

And Emily Blunt has set out on the promotional trail for the film, which is written and directed by her husband John Krasinski, as she made an appearance on Tuesday’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The actress, 37, starred in a hilarious sketch entitled A Quiet Plane on the talk show, taking on the role of a stewardess on board the world’s first silent airplane.

Before the hilarious advert played, Jimmy joked with Emily about how she and her husband had such a successful franchise that they were ‘dipping [their] toes in the airline industry.’

The Marry Poppins Returns star said in response: ‘Well yea, we thought it was time to diversify because the brand is now out there.’

Given the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Jimmy asked if it was really ‘a good time to get into the airline industry’, but Emily was determined as she said ‘it could be a rough time starting off.’

‘Please pay attention to these safety instructions, that make our aircraft is the quietest in the sky. It’s important to keep your mouth securely closed at all times.’

When one person is seen asking where their fellow passenger is from, Emily’s flight attendant appears out of nowhere to shush them.

In another scene she explains that ‘use of cellular phones is not permitted on board’, and when a passenger talks animatedly on the phone the actress grabs it and dumps it into a kettle.

Emily went on to urge passengers to keep their ‘feet on the ground, not because they are loud because they are gross’ as one person puts their feet on another person’s chair, before coughing and being taken by a creature.

Adding an amusing touch to the advert, she also said if people want to bring ‘so called support animals on our airline, make sure its a fish’, as a man with a parrot is grabbed by another monstrous hand.

Concluding the promotional material, Emily joked: ‘Thank you for joining a quiet plane, now shut the f*** up and enjoy your flight.’
