Emilia Clarke looks fresh-faced as she arrives at theatre ahead of her debut in play The Seagull

She earned herself countless fans through her stint as Daenerys Targaryen in the hugely popular fantasy drama Game Of Thrones.

And Emilia Clarke was seen excitedly preparing to step into a completely different realm on Wednesday, when she arrived at London’s Playhouse Theatre ahead of making her debut in West End play The Seagull.

The 33-year-old actress looked fresh-faced and cheerful as she emerged from a chauffeur-driven car makeup-free hours before treading the boards before an audience for the first time as in Anya Reiss’ retelling of Anton Chekhov’s classic.

The London-born beauty looked casually cool for her arrival, wrapping up in a Moncler Jacket with fur collar, which she teamed with blue jeans and brown suede Mango cowboy boots.

Toting a Rains backpack, the star wore her brunette locks down with a centre parting while she appeared to keep her casual look largely free of accessories.

Wednesday will mark Emilia’s debut in her role of Nina in The Seagulls, which was originally written by Russian dramatist Chekhov in 1895 and first produced in 1896. Her run in the stage production is set to end on May 30.

The role will allow fans to see Emilia in a different light following her eight-season run in Game Of Thrones, which came to its dramatic conclusion last May.

Emilia recently revealed that her cameraman brother swiped something from the set during their time on the HBO show and later gifted the memento to her.

She joked that although it was forbidden to take items from set, she was touched by the piece he managed to pilfer for her as a keepsake.

Emilia, who insisted that she ‘abided by the rules’, told Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show that her brother rebelled and managed to bag her a Targaryen flag.

She said: ‘I’m just going to say this live on radio, my amazing brother, who’s in the camera department and worked on the show as well, this Christmas gave me the best Christmas present ever.

‘In one of the battle scenes, he got a mate of a mate… he got one of the Targaryen flags.’

All of the different regions in Game Of Thrones had banners with their house sigil on them, and the Targaryens were represented by a red dragon.

She continued: ‘So I opened it this Christmas, just burst into tears! So that’s going up in pride of place, because I keep asking Game Of Thrones, ‘Please can I have a wig? A coat?! I had eight.’

Emilia also recently confessed that things could get a little awkward on set with her brother sometimes because she occasionally had to be naked for her scenes.

She revealed that some days her brother would ask to pop by while she was filming and she had to do her best to deter him.

The star joked on Jimmy Kimmel Live: ‘So there are some days where he’s like, “Oh, I’ll swing by,” because he’s literally in the next unit that’s filming next door.

‘And I’m like, ‘Nah, it’s good! I’m good! You can stay there!’

Emilia previously admitted Game of Thrones saved her life as it gave her something to focus on away from her two brain aneurysms.

She said: ‘I always say that Daenerys literally saved my life, because it puts you in quite the headspace when you’ve had a brain injury.

‘Walking in her shoes, I just put so much more into each season because it really was life or death. I felt so powerfully that she was saving me. I could only see her.

‘That was my single point of focus that allowed me to not think about anything scarier than just getting on set.’
