People are being careful not to touch each other amid the coronavirus outbreak.

And Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly showed off the many ways that a person can greet someone during this time while at The Prince’s Trust Awards And TK Maxx & Homesense Awards at London Palladium on Wednesday.

The TV presenting duo, both 44, demonstrated a heel touch while on stage, after using a Namaste hand gesture to greet Prince Charles.

While meeting with Prince Charles, Ant used the hand gesture to greet the royal, but Dec chose to keep his hands crossed firmly in front of him instead.

It wasn’t just Ant and Dec who were using alternative methods to greet people, as Richard E. Grant also tried an elbow bump with Black Mirror star Michaela Coel. 

Prince Charles, who is following government instructions to avoid shaking hands in an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus, was seen getting into a slight fluster as he initially offered up his hand to guests.

The royal was seen quickly remembering to give a Namaste gesture, before swiftly slipping back into old habits as he went onto greet members of the organisation.

Prince Charles chatted with Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood, before offering X Factor star Fleur East, Dina Asher-Smith and Craig David the Namaste gesture.

Anna Friel and Pierce Brosnan received the same treatment as he made his way around the room, conscious of the latest coronavirus precautions.  

The number of coronavirus cases in Britain today soared to 456 after health chiefs announced the biggest daily jump in cases since the killer infection hit the UK.

Eighty-three more patients have been struck down by the deadly infection, meaning the outbreak in the UK has risen five-fold in the space of a week – just 85 cases had been confirmed last Wednesday.

Most of the cases confirmed in the UK have been in England (387). Thirty-six patients have been struck down in Scotland, 16 in Northern Ireland and 15 in Wales. Dozens are feared to have caught the infection in the UK.

The Prince’s Trust helps support 11 to 30-year-olds build confidence and begin their careers through mentorship schemes and hundreds of free courses.

The awards show will recognise the young people who have overcome difficulties, and who have improved their lives and had a positive impact on their community.
