Disney is expecting big things from the live action adaptation.
This remake may be one of the super-studio’s biggest gambles yet, with a reported budget of more than $300 million.
And the film is dealing with several the obstacles. Disney has postponed the Chinese premiere of their live-action Mulan adaptation from its March schedule, quite significant as the $200million film with all-Asian cast was almost tailor-made for the Chinese market, a choice which could shave more than a few dollars off their box office totals.
Mulan is set for theaters March 27th 2020.
