Bindi Irwin and her fiancé Chandler Powell will marry at Australia Zoo later this year.

And on Monday, Terri Irwin revealed how her family would be honouring her late husband Steve at the upcoming wedding.

‘I believe the people we love always are. You know, if you are missing someone, I think it’s helpful to know that scientifically you can’t actually create or extinguish life, you can only change its form.

‘So if you are grieving someone you loved very much, look to science and just remember when you boil the kettle and steam comes out, it doesn’t mean the water has gone.’

The 55-year-old conservationist said Bindi’s brother Robert would walk her down the aisle since Steve will not be there to do so.

‘She leads a team of over 500 wonderful staff here Australia Zoo, who I’m proud to say are 70% female.

‘She continues Dad’s mission of Wildlife Warriors global conservation work, keeping his legacy alive.

‘She’s also the most amazing mother and my greatest inspiration in life. Her passion, grace and courage is beyond anything this world has ever known. I love you, Mum.‬’

Bindi recently revealed what she hopes to do with her fiancé Chandler Powell after they tie the knot later this year.

Speaking to New Idea magazine, the child star said the couple were thinking about feeding crocodiles at Australia Zoo after the ceremony.

‘We all keep joking that our first thing as man and wife will be feeding the crocodiles,’ she mused.

Later in the interview, Bindi said the couple were already thinking about children, but added that babies was still ‘a way away’.

‘I think it’s a way away right now, but when it does happen, I can guarantee you they’ll have their own Khaki because Khaki is not just a colour, it’s an attitude.’
