Controversial Married At First Sight star Michael Goonan reportedly tried to escape the experiment last year when things became too stressful.

The 28-year-old company director placed a call to his wealthy parents – who own a large ice distribution company in Adelaide – and begged them to help him out, according to New Idea magazine.

But it’s believed they couldn’t do anything because Michael had already signed a contract with Channel Nine and Endemol Shine Australia.
