Married At First Sight EXCLUSIVE: Jessika Power debuts her new relationship with landscaper James Brown – as she reveals they’re having a ‘romantic getaway’
Jessika Power made a New Year’s resolution to take a break from dating.
But on Thursday, the former Married At First Sight star, 28, revealed she was having a ‘romantic getaway’ on the Gold Coast with her new boyfriend.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, Jessika confirmed she was dating 35-year-old landscaper and father-of-one James Brown.

‘We’re just having a quiet few days at a resort. It’s a bit of a romantic getaway and I’m definitely liking what I’m seeing!’ she said.
According to Jessika, James is ‘more mature’ than men she has dated in the past.
‘He’s just a gentleman, he opens the door for me and treats my really nice, which is a bit different from the guys I normally date,’ she said.
Jessika explained that she has stopped dating guys from reality shows because she’s happier with ‘normal blokes’ these days.

‘James is not someone who just wants to be with you for media. He doesn’t care what shows I’ve been in, he likes me for me,’ she said.
‘Obviously media is going to be a part of my normal life for a while but I can’t have this forever, that would be a sad life.
‘One day, I just want to take it easy and settle down with someone.’

Despite only dating for a week, James has already met Jessika’s father.
‘Dad really likes him! They met and he approved. He even started call him son! I was like “Dad, calm down!” she said.
The pair have known each other for years after meeting through a family friend, but their relationship didn’t begin properly until last month.
‘He actually tried [to ask me out] a few times. I didn’t reject him, I was just in a different head space,’ she said.
‘But over the last week we were both circling each other and it sort of happened.’

Jessika clarified that they’re ‘not exclusive just yet’ and are just ‘getting to know each other’.
She added that ‘putting a label on things’ can put pressure on a relationship, especially when you’re in the public eye.
James recently sold his NSW-based landscaping business and is reestablishing himself on the Gold Coast.
‘He’s moving up just for me!’ Jessika joked.
Jessika was partnered with Gympie-based farmer Mick Gould on last year’s season of Married At First Sight.
She had an affair with Dan Webb, who was paired to Tamara Joy, and the cheaters were controversially allowed to re-enter the experiment as a new couple.
In April 2019, Jessika’s relationship with Dan ended. Seven months later, she and Mick settled their feud by catching up for a drink at a country pub.
