Amber Davies reveals she feared she’d never ‘work again’ after 9 to 5: The Musical ended

She first shot to fame on the third series of Love Island, before going on to land the part of Judy Bernly in 9 to 5: The Musical.

But Amber Davies revealed she feared she was never work again when her time in the production came to an end.

Luckily, the West End star, 23, went on to bag a role in the new Bring It On musical, with the star going on to discuss her new role on Thursday’s Lorraine.

Worries: Amber Davies revealed she feared she was never work again when her time in 9 to 5: The Musical came to an end

She told the host, 60, that she panicked that she wouldn’t be able to get another theatre role after her initial success.

She said: ‘I thought once 9 to 5 ended, I did think, was it a one-hit wonder? Am I going to work again?

‘So I went into the New Year thinking how is this year going to look for me? And on the 2nd January I got the phone call to say “oh you’ve got the job”, because I had done the audition prior. I just thought, oh thank God!

‘And now I feel like OK, I am definitely in this industry, I feel like I’ve got my foot in the door.

‘I think I have proven that I work hard, I can do eight shows a week and that’s really important.’

Amber worked as a dancer and entertainment at London club Cirque Le Soleil ahead of her Love Island debut.

But after being immersed into the work of reality TV, she admitted that she felt something was ‘missing’ in her life.

She added: ‘I think when I came out of the villa, I did a year of reality stuff and I felt like something was missing.

‘I had trained and worked so hard to get my end of year diploma, I’m a workaholic and I love to be busy so I’m happy I’ve got my foot back in the door.’

Amber is set to portray the role of Campbell in Bring It On, alongside Olympian Louis Smith as Cameron.

Inspired by the 2000 film of the same name, the production features an original score by the award-winning creator of Hamilton.
