‘The best advert I’ve ever seen!’ Married At First Sight fans go wild over a Koala mattress commercial mocking the show and its ‘cheating trash’ stars
A spoof advert from mattress brand Koala sent Married At First Sight fans into a frenzy when it aired during one of the show’s commercial breaks on Tuesday.
The 30-second commercial featured actors playing MAFS participants David Cannon, Hayley Vernon and Michael Goonan, while mocking their recent cheating scandal.
A voice-over declared Hayley and Michael ‘cheating piles of trash’, prompting viewers to call it one of ‘the best pieces of television advertising ever’.

The advert began with a shot of a sleeping man wearing a T-shirt almost identical to the infamous Riddler shirt David wore during last week’s dinner party.
A toothbrush is seen on the bedside table, referencing David’s shocking act of revenge on Hayley when he cleaned a dirty toilet with hers.
It then zooms out to reveal another man and a woman – presumably stand-ins for Hayley and Michael – kissing next to the sleeping man, who is blissfully unaware.

A voice-over says: ‘Say G’day to Koala! Australia’s highest-rated mattress brand.

‘Even if they are an absolute cheating pile of trash.’
The advert ends with the tagline: ‘Koala. Comfy at first sight.’

Fans took to Twitter to praise the commercial after it premiered on Tuesday.
‘Haha! That Koala ad was hilarious!’ tweeted one amused viewer.
‘That Koala ad is the best piece of television advertising since a long time. Massive props to whoever came up with David-Hayley-Michael plot,’ another wrote.
‘Koala wins advertising for 2020,’ a third person said.
