Matthew Wright talking about nudism leaves Holly and Phil horrified on This Morning

Matthew Wright leaves Holly and Phil horrified on This Morning after revealing he went to a nudist camp for his 30th birthday

He has previously debated the benefits of naturism on his mid-morning chat show.

And Matthew Wright left Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield with looks of horror as he discussed his experiences of going to a nudist camp on This Morning.

The presenter, 54, had joined the hosts to discuss some of the day’s biggest news items alongside columnist Camilla Tominey.

Surprised: Matthew Wright left Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield with looks of horror as he discussed his experiences of going to a nudist camp on This Morning

When Phil, 57, read out that nudists had claimed they are facing abuse, and wanted to be protected under hate laws like vegans, Matthew added that he had tried out being a naturist.

‘I’ve been to a nudist camp, stayed for a couple of weeks. I went for my 30th birthday, I wanted to have an unforgettable experience and I did have one,’ he said.

But the insight came as a surprise to Holly, 39, who looked at pains to avoid getting into too much detail.

‘Oh gosh, I mean it’s Monday morning, it’s really early…’ she said jokingly.

But Matthew continued, adding: ‘There’s an awful lot of jumping up and down at nudist camps.’

The rather visual insight can be seen to make Phil pull a grimace as he listens on.

‘And collecting breakfast, sliding your tray along past the sausages,’ he adds, before being cut off in the conversation.

The topic then changes onto the rights of nudists, a legal activity, and whether because it encourages people to be more ethical – by not wearing clothes – that it should have more protection.

‘But if you’re an ethical vegan then it goes beyond what you eat it’s your entire life, and this is the same thing,’ said Matthew.

‘If you are an ethical naturist, then you believe totally in that.’

Matthew hosted the topical debate show The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 from 2000 to 2018, before being replaced by Jeremy Vine’s show.

The veteran presenter later joined talkRadio with a 1pm show.

MailOnline recently revealed the presenter had been asked to leave when his contract expired at the end of 2019, but bosses then performed a dramatic U-turn.

Now radio bosses appear to have set a new date for Matthew to leave, with the star, 54, taking to Twitter on Wednesday to express his upset.

Matthew shared on Monday: ‘Been hearing some amazing rumours about how @talkRADIO management plans to reward my #arias nomination for best speech broadcaster – deets to follow as and when!’

Yet hours later, he shared the tweet again, adding: ‘My reward is: I’m out of Talkradio at the end of March!’
