Superyacht aimed at Silicon Valley tycoons comes with a 360-degree imaging system and glass atrium

Calling all Silicon Valley tycoons – this could be the superyacht for you. Because it’s brimming with tech.

The concept, called Stormbreaker, is aimed at ‘tech-focused explorers’ and comes with a 360-degree imaging system as well as state-of-the-art communications.

And the ‘razor-sharp’ design also features stunning interiors including a jaw-dropping glass atrium at the heart of the vessel, which will allow passengers to gaze out at ‘panoramic vistas’.

Berlin-based yacht designer Theodoros Fotiadis is behind the design, which is being championed for sale by Jim Evans, founder of brokerage firm Super Yachts Monaco.

The design is ready to be built at either 298ft (91 metres) or 377ft (115 metres) with ‘the range, luxurious space and immense technical capability to ensure owners and guests an epic adventure, whether work or play’.

According to the designer, it is also primed for optimal cruising in all climates in the most remote destinations, from the balmy Polynesian Islands to the Arctic Circle.

In terms of onboard tech, Stormbreaker will have a ‘fully integrated and interactive audiovisual experience’ by Icon Connect.

The panoramic 360-degree imaging system will record and broadcast live footage so ‘guests will never miss a whale breach or an icefall’.

There will also be an ‘interactive infotainment system for real-time environment and voyage awareness’.

Meanwhile, the communications system will provide high bandwidth, ‘capable of internet connectivity, even at the polar extremes of navigation’.

The designers say: ‘A level above her peers and the first of a new breed, her owner will be able to stay hyper-connected even when they’re off the grid, with the capability to meet the demands of a modern-day entrepreneur from off-shore, among other benefits.’

At the heart of the yacht is the structural glass atrium, which will ‘flood the open-plan interiors with natural light’.

The layout also includes a huge tender garage to house smaller boats or a submarine, a beach club, a spa-gym complex, a cigar lounge, an observation deck, a pool, a dining lounge, a private office, an art gallery, a library and helicopter hangar.

Jim said: ‘Stormbreaker is the next level of go-anywhere explorer, the concept incorporates all the elements that thrill and solace-seeking clients look for – a tough exterior, attention-grabbing design, a bottomless toy chest, efficient propulsion, long-range capability and the highest level of connectivity.’

Theodoros added: ‘Who is the owner of Stormbreaker? The person that when they see the storm, they want to go into it.

‘The owner will go undaunted where only the bold dare, conquer the elements, explore the world, and experience the exhilaration and tranquillity of global yachting first-hand.

‘This yacht is for people who enjoy going off the grid and experiencing something unique every time they are on board. A very different muse to more traditional cruising.

‘There is plenty of scope to be creative with exterior styling and layout, as long as technical requirements and propulsion elements, in this case, diesel-electric, are fully integrated from the outset.’
