Meat lovers rejoice as McDonald’s launches TRIPLE cheeseburger for just £2.39

McDonald’s fans rejoice over launch of a £2.39 TRIPLE cheeseburger – 26 years after it first appeared on UK menus

  • McDonald’s has added triple cheeseburgers to the menu of 60 UK restaurants
  • Fast food chain will sell the burger nationwide later this year, if it proves popular
  • The £2.39 cheesy meat bun is already available in the U.S and Australia

McDonald’s has made a new meaty addition to its menu, debuting a triple cheeseburger in 60 of its UK stores.

The fast food chain will introduce the burger across the nation later this year, if the trial is successful.

The triple cheeseburger is made up of three patties stacked between three cheese slices, served in a bun with mustard, gherkins, onions and ketchup, and is priced at £2.39, depending on the branch.

A McDonald’s double cheeseburger typically costs just £1.69.

The slightly more expensive new triple cheeseburger, which is already available across the US, has 520 calories.

According to BurgerLad, this isn’t the first time McDonald’s has offered its customers a triple cheeseburger.

The review website claims that the meaty burger was available to buy in 1994 during the World Cup, under the name The Hat Trick.

Customers across the UK have taken to Twitter, expressing their excitement that they will be able to try the triple cheeseburger, which is also available at nine outlets in Ireland.

‘Why do McDonald’s always bring out something good when I give up takeaways for Lent #triplecheeseburger,’ wrote one.

Joking that they had given up fast food for Lent and ahead of summer, customers took to Twitter revealing they're excited to try the new addition to the menu

Another said: ‘McDonald’s have released a triple cheeseburger. Summer bod cancelled’

A third added: ‘Day one of diet going well then… can’t stop f*** thinking about that triple cheeseburger from Maccies lol’

Others vented their frustration that the burger wasn’t being offered in locations closer to the capital.

‘Just checked and I can’t see anywhere in London serving this triple cheeseburger, what a s*******,’ wrote one.

Attempting to resolve the problem, another said: ‘Life hack: McDonald’s is not serving the triple cheeseburger near you. Then order a double and add an extra patty’

Others complained that they won't be able to try the burger in their local area, but one said the solution is to ask for an additional patty in a double cheeseburger
