Property specialist Beatrice Rose, of Beatrice Rose Associates which is handling the sale of Hummingbird Hall, said: ‘The property has incredible views, grand proportions, lush gardens and is very peaceful.

‘By day you see the butterflies and the little hummingbirds – the owners would hang out feeders for them – and at night there are owls and fireflies glowing in the dark.’

 She said the property’s owners had successfully run the wedding venue business but the property could easily convert to being a family home again.

‘They are leaving because they have a young child and I understand they want to return to Britain for the schooling,’ she said.

She described the Rose Hall Great House Estate as one of Jamaica’s most exclusive and desirable resort communities.

‘This resort estate is 5,000 acres, gated and exceptionally private. The estate has two impressive golf courses, lakes, a beach and is home to international celebrities. It’s the most romantic place and is a real piece of paradise.’
