Adorable photographs show a family of polar bears play-fighting, running around and sleeping in their natural habitat in Alaska.

A photographer spent four days in sub-zero conditions to capture these stunning images of bear cubs and their parents on the edge of the Beaufort Sea.

The vulnerable species were snapped rolling around in the snow, clambering over each other and snugging to keep warm.

One amazing shot shows a polar bear looking directly into the camera lens while standing with its cub. Another snap shows a young cub standing on its hind legs holding a bone in its front paws.

Wildlife photographer Brant Brady, from Canada, braved the cold for days to get the snaps for his travel blog.

He spotted the 40 bears – including males, females and cubs on Beaufort Sea – which has seen a loss of sea ice in recent years due to climate change.

Former commercial diver Brant started photography 30 years ago and has travelled to over 70 countries capturing images.

There are between 22,000 and 31,000 of the majestic beasts left on earth with between 60 and 80 per cent of them based in Canada.
