Stormzy to headline Reading and Leeds festival with Liam Gallagher and Rage Against the Machine

The first wave of acts for this year’s Reading & Leeds festivals has been announced, with Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Rage Against the Machine revealed as headliners.

Stormzy shared the festival poster from his Twitter account with the caption “Could be Glasto could be Reading”, referencing his headline slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival last year and a lyric in his song “Big Michael”.

Other acts on the lineup include US hip-hop trio Migos, Sam Fender, singer-songwriter Gerry Cinnamon, Courteeners, Two Door Cinema Club, D-Block Europe, and rappers Aitch, Slowthai and AJ Tracey.

Gallagher announced his headline spot last November, to the apparent dismay of festival organisers.

While the lineup is typically thin on the ground when it comes to female artists, it does include Mabel, Lady Leshurr, Mahalia and electronic artist Georgia.

Last year’s festival was headlined by The 1975, Post Malone, Twenty One Pilots and Foo Fighters

Reading and Leeds 2020 take place on the weekend 28-30 August. Tickets are on sale now.
