Katy Perry says Prince Charles asked her to sing to his plants

Katy Perry has said Prince Charles talks to his plants, and even asked her to sing to them.

The singer made the revelation when the royal appointed her as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust.

“In my own personal experience,” said Perry of the Prince, “he has an incredibly kind soul, so kind that, yes, sometimes he talks to his plants.”

She added: “He asked me if I could sing to his plants, and I will in the future, you have my word, sir.”

Prince Charles then came on stage and said: “I must say I’m enormously grateful to Katy Perry for such a kind introduction, which she told me just now she wanted to make slightly more spicy, but I think she resisted the temptation.”

The decision to appoint Perry an ambassador for the British Asian Trust has been heavily criticised on social media, with some accusing the star of encouraging “white saviour” complex.

The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007 by Prince Charles and a group of British Asian business leaders.

The charity supports the estimated 5.8 million children working in forced labour in India with tens of thousands thought to be working in hazardous workshops.
