Snoop Dogg insists his music event Lovers & Friends won’t be another Fyre festival

Lil’ Kim has announced that her “check has cleared” after being asked to play Snoop Dogg’s music festival, allaying fears it could have been another disaster similar to the fraudulent Fyre.

Shortly after Goldenvoice announced Lovers & Friends Festival, artists featured on the poster, including Lil’ Kim and Ma$e, denied having anything to do with the event, alarming ticket buyers.

“This is SO FAKE! I am not a part of this,” Lil’ Kim told her followers on Instagram.

Rapper Twista claimed he was yet to receive payment for his involvement, which is exactly what several acts who were set to play Fyre festival complained about ahead of Ja Rule’s doomed event, which made headlines in 2017.

Snoop Dogg, who is one of the event’s promoters, stepped in to assure his fans that the festival was completely legitimate and personally asked Lil’ Kim to attend the event in California.

“We were talking to some of your people, or at least we thought we were talking to some of your people,” he said. ”Get at me on the DM so we can get you this some of this money, see if you with this thing or not. But as far as everybody else on the show, 100 per cent confirmed [sic].”

Hours later, Lil’ Kim told her followers: “THE CHECK HAS CLEARED! Thank Uncle @SnoopDogg guys cause if it wasn’t for him this would not be happening but y’all know how much I love Cali and Uncle Snoop. See ya’ll May 9th, 2020! Tickets on sale TOMORROW‼️ [sic].”

Twista later confirmed his involvement, writing: “Locked and loaded playing all the hits.”

Other acts set to play Lovers & Friends include Lauryn Hill, TLC and Usher.
