Hayley Williams says she will ‘beat up’ anyone who upsets Billie Eilish

Paramore singer Hayley Williams has warned Billie Eilish’s trolls that she will “beat up” anyone who is mean to her.

This comes after the 18-year-old “Bad Guy: singer opened up about her struggles with Instagram critics “ruining her life”.

In a now-deleted Tweet, Williams wrote: “Who’s been mean to Billie on the internet i will absolutely beat somebody’s ass all the way up [sic].”

Earlier this month, Williams spoke to Rolling Stone about her concerns for Eilish, who has had to grow up around fame and social media.

We got a head start on the culture that is the internet now, and the fast-paced life that artists and people are living,” she said of Paramore.

“If I were Billie Eilish today – and granted she’s on a rocket that’s going so much higher than I would have ever even dreamed for Paramore – if that were me I would be insane and [struggle].

“I am so happy there’s someone like her who has great, really cool family around her.”

Last year, Williams tweeted about her love of Eilish’s music: “I am a grown woman losing her s**t to this new @billieeilish.”

Eilish recently opened up on BBC Breakfast about the impact of social media trolls on her mental health. She explained how she stopped reading Instagram comments “like two days ago”.

William’s is not the only star vowing to help Eilish navigate fame. Earlier this week, Justin Bieber teared up when discussing how protective he feels of her.

He said: “I just kind of let her do her thing and if she ever needs me, I’m going to be here for her.”
